A 2025 study published in the Cognizance Journal examined how Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhances biology learning at the secondary education level. The literature review revealed that AI facilitates the visualization of intricate biological concepts through 3D models, enables adaptive learning tailored to individual student abilities, and offers virtual laboratories that remove the constraints of physical facilities. These applications have led to better comprehension, increased student engagement, and more personalized educational experiences. Despite these benefits, the study identified significant challenges, including limited technological infrastructure in some schools, a lack of adequate teacher training to implement AI tools effectively, and the high costs associated with AI technologies. Both teachers and students perceive AI positively, appreciating its role in improving understanding and motivation. However, the continued importance of teacher guidance was emphasized to address technical difficulties. The study concludes that with proper support and policy measures, AI can substantially improve biology education quality.
